more thoughts on antigone and haimon.

And now, for my daily meltdown over Antigone.

But really, why couldn’t Antigone just have a happy ending (preferably with Haimon)? Why does everyone in Greek mythology have to have a horribly screwed up family and then commit suicide? Why did I actually have to care for a character in Greek mythology (one that could actually die and did, that is)? Why does Haimon have to be so calm and reasonable? Why did Haimon make me love him so much? Why do I love Haimon and Antigone together so much when they had, like, one scene together and one of them was dead with the other soon on the way?

(AKA, Gina gets emotionally involved in English class literature.)
