According to Wikipedia, HAIM (pronounced ‘high-m,’ or, rhyming with ‘time’) is an indie pop band consisting of three sisters, Este, Danielle, and Alana Haim all hailing from California, with a sound like “nu-folk-meets-nineties-R&B.” Days Are Gone, pictured above, is their debut studio album.
I’m not going to pretend to be a musical genius and go on to rave about their “nu-folk-meets-nineties-R&B” style, or anything like that. I love their upbeat sound and their melodic voices, and I think they’re easy to listen to. As a writer I am always on the search for more inspiration, and with HAIM’s new album playing through my earphones, my fingers fly across the keyboard. Below is “Falling,” the first track of their aforementioned album. Listen for yourself!
